Paintings In My Studio > New Work

This morning I got
up early to
write this down and
you are still
sleeping under the
heavy polish blanket and
I light the fire
to warm the house
and saw that
it snow again,
again a couple inches
on top of the inches
that came down
yesterday and I
will put the tea kettle on
and take my writing things,
books I'm reading and
sit by the fire waiting
for the water to boil
while the super
moon is still
high in the sky
so bright I
should walk around
the shadows on the ground
and think of
summer when we
would get up
early to hear the
first birds of morning.
