Up On The French
Up on the French,
the granite is over a billion years old,
impervious
harder than gold.
Here for centuries
loons have seen people,
come and go
in waves.
Tonight, up on the French
there are 10 billions stars in the Milky Way,
and a trillion other Milky Ways beyond.
Up on the French
time is not slipping
not passing away
neither is it dragging on
nor running out.
Up on the French
time is space
moving in
moving out.
from the upcoming collection of poems 'Up On The French' by Richard Kooyman
